Birth of seven children:
A doctor who performed an extraordinary operation at Jinnah Hospital in Abbottabad
It simply came to our notice then that we had more than one child. The private clinic they were treating had advised us to go to the hospital if his wife's condition worsened.
These are the words of Yar Muhammad, the father of seven children in Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
"We arrived at Jinnah International Hospital in Abbottabad in great distress, where Allah has given us four sons and three daughters," he said. We are very happy.
Yar Mohammad belongs to Batgram district. His wife gave birth to seven children at Jinnah International Teaching Hospital, a private medical college
According to hospital sources, all the newborns and their mothers are in stable condition.
Yar Mohammad has two daughters before these children. "Raising and training these children will not be difficult for them at all now because they live in a joint family system where all the family members will help them," he says.
When even a doctor performing an extraordinary operation is shocked
According to Dr. Hina Fayyaz, a gynecologist who assisted in the delivery of children through a complex operation at Jinnah Hospital Abbottabad, the woman first came to him on Saturday.
"According to Ultrasound and other reports have revealed that she is pregnant with five children," she said. About eight months had passed since the pregnancy.
According to Dr Hina Fayyaz, he was shocked to see the woman's reports. "The woman's blood pressure was dangerously high. His stomach was very bloated. Earlier, she had undergone two major surgeries during her pregnancy.
"They were in a lot of pain where the first stitches were. There was a risk that the stitches and uterus would rupture, which could endanger the life of the woman and her children.
"Another threat to us was that the woman would not suffer from postpartum hemorrhage," she said. The woman's blood pressure was already high. It could even start to shake them. "
Dr. Hina Fayyaz said that this was my OPD day. "I spoke to my head of the department, Professor Dr Rubina Bashir, about the whole case. On which he had advised to perform the operation immediately with the consent of the family.
"Preparations were made on an emergency basis for such a large operation. An emergency call was made to the pediatric ward's specialist doctors.
"The family didn't even have blood transfusions," he said. We also arranged the blood ourselves. In all arrangements, Jinnah International's modern infrastructure came in handy.
Dangerous phase of operation
Dr. Hina Fayyaz said that in this operation I was assisted by my three junior TMOs Dr. Shehila, Dr. Maryam and Dr. Rabia besides paramedics and anesthesiologists.
"The operation lasted an hour," he said. But when the stomach opened, the intestines, uterus and urinary tract were connected. The patient's abdomen was already overly swollen, making it difficult to reach the uterus.
"Once we had succeeded in this stage, we would have separated the baby from the mother one by one. It also required great care not to bleed too much.
‘Survival of seven children is a miracle’
Before it, I had a major birth operation in which I helped with the birth of three children," she said. "So I had some experience before it, but it was the first time I had helped give birth to more than three children."
"I had the experience that most of the time, the exact number of children cannot be seen in a loud sound," he said. So we had six children on our own. The kit was also made for only six children. But when he began to separate the children from his mother, he saw that they were seven children.
There was a kit in the hospital and a kit for the seventh child was immediately called.
When we provided vitamin D to help our seventh child survive then"I was thankful for God ," she said. It's usually rare for an entire child to be alive. "
The children have been shifted to the hospital nursery while the mother has been shifted to the ICU where the children and mother are stable. Babies may need to be kept in the nursery for a few days because they are born prematurely
Birth of more children is the result of medication
Dr Hina Fayyaz said the woman had used contraceptives. "In women body more than one egg to mature causes by medication, which can lead to two or more pregnancies at the same time."
"In our, point of view the reason why a woman gives birth to seven children at the same time is because of the use of contraceptives," he said. "That's why so many pregnancies stopped."
"We find out from the history of the woman's that the woman in her early 30s had not been able to conceive for three years, which is why she used these drugs," he said.
Dr. Hina Fayyaz said that it is not known now whether she used these drugs on the advice of a doctor or not. If it had been used on the advice of a specialist doctor and someone would have consulted me, I would have given him medicine that does not allow more than one egg to mature.
He said that nowadays such drugs are given for most of the reasons for having two or more pregnancies at the same time.
So, women should be very careful in such matters. Do,t use medicines without advice of a specialist doctor. The woman and her children were lucky, but not everyone is so lucky.
